Thorn in My Heart, by Liz Curtis Higgs

Read and reviewed in September, 2008 as part of a Bookcrossing bookray (sent from one Bookcrosser to another, and kept, given away, or released by the final recipient)

An allegorical and fictional retelling of the Bible account of Jacob and his two wives, Rachel and Leah.
I had not really given much thought to Leah's feelings regarding her wedding and marriage to Jacob. This story fleshed out the Biblical characters.

I was wondering how Ms. Higgs would deal with the bigamous relationship in her 18th century Scottish plot. I won't spoil it by saying how it was handled, but it was a very uncomfortable situation!
