Phantom, by Susan Kay

Read in the late 1990s, reviewed and sent to another Bookcrosser in September, 2002
Fascinating account of the sad, strange childhood and early life of the infamous and fictional Phantom of the Opera. His talent, his experiences, how he learned the skills he displayed in later life, and of course the story of the love of his life, the beautiful and talented Christine. My husband (who does not read much for pleasure) and I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
