I Heard the Owl Call My Name, by Margaret Craven

Read and reviewed in December, 2007. It is no longer in my possession.

was a small, quiet book. Although the events narrated in the story were dramatic, it was told in a calm, introspective manner. Good bedtime reading.

It's about an Episcopal (or Anglican) missionary working with the people of native tribes on the western coast of Canada. The book was written in 1977. It had a timeless quality; it could have taken place almost any time in the twentieth century.
