Read and reviewed in July, 2007. Later sent to another Bookcrosser to release at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.
This was a pretty good book. I enjoyed it as a light, quick read. I think the authors tried to stuff too much into a short novel: romance, mystery, organized crime, and Christianity.
A young married woman is forced to leave her home and her husband, fleeing for her life. She seeks sanctuary (hence the title) in an Amish-Mennonite community far off the beaten track. This should have been a longer book, to have effectively weaved all the plot twists together gradually, and not as suddenly as it was done here.
