A Proper Family Christmas, by Jane Gordon-Cumming

Read and reviewed April, 2007. Released later
This was a delightfully funny book, a sort of comedy of errors and romance, somewhat like a Shakespeare play.
What happens when a curmudgeonly widower who only wants to be left alone with his equally curmudgeonly cat, is descended upon by all his relatives, all of whom distrust and dislike one another, and all of whom are hoping and even conniving for his estate?
What happens when a nice widowed lady, who is just beginning to take an interest in life again, meets a courteous, attractive, and eligible gentleman, but hears gossip about him that makes her wonder if he is eligible after all?
