My Life in France, by Julia Child, Alex Prud'Homme

Finished reading it right after reading Julie and Julia, the book by a woman who spent a year cooking all the recipes in Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Now I want to see the movie!

This is Julia Child's memoir of her years in France, life with her beloved husband, his career, their friends, and her budding interest in learning to cook the French way, and the years of struggle with the writing of her classic cookbook.

Julie and Julia : 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen, by Julie Powell

Read, reviewed, and released October-December, 2009

I enjoyed this story, and reading about all Julie's adventures, and misadventures, and how she overcame all obstacles, and perservered to accomplish her goal. I enjoyed reading about her blog, and her followers, and her growing fame. Being the prude I am, I did not particularly enjoy all the "f-words" and other words and expressions that were beyond my comfort zone. It was a good story, though, as I said, and I'd like to see the movie. I was relieved to hear that, as a PG-13 rated movie, it does not have much "cussing."
